I am a character driven urban fantasy writer who strives to write fun and entertaining stories while remaining ever mindful of the impact fiction can have on the young people who read my work. I also strive to take common tropes and traditional thinking and turn them on their heads, shake them, and see what falls out of their pockets..

Senseless
My senses aren't working right
Today
My eyes don't want to
Focus
And
There's a sort of
Fog in my ears
Like an absence of sound
An aural fuzz filter
Like my ears can't focus either.
The world around me
Seems
To be
Holding it's heath
Speaking in whispers
I Remember a day
That felt like this
Seventeen years ago
Another day which taught us
Days like today
Are no longer unthinkable.
Days where we learn
It is possible to be
So filled with empathy
That it feels like there is
No room left in our hearts
To feel
People around me
Become
Objects in space
Moving in vicinity
Trajectories
Unconscious
Yet inexplicably rigid
Individualized orbits
Afraid
Of contact
For fear of
collapse.
